So excited as I have now bought a copy of ‘The Pillow Book.’

I started reading and, about two or three paragraphs in, was

inspired to write this:

The Four Seasons  (4 chokas)

Spring dawns are the best.

Over the hills there is faint

leaching of rose hues:

vaulted chromatography,

where a tonal spectrum,

like a faint aquarelle wash

runs, but in controlled

seepage, on pre-soaked paper,

prepared by a skilled artist.

Shreds of lilac cloud

are stippled by a dry brush.

This unique beauty

never fails to create awe

in those who rise to observe.
